Cancer is the leading cause of death in the world today

Each year ten million new cancer cases of cancer are diagnosed, with over six million deaths each year from cancer. Currently, there is great amount of Cancer research into what are the causes of cancer, how can it be prevented and what can be done to cure it.

In the United Kingdom, cancer research has been conducted since 1902. Most of the latest Cancer Research in the United Kingdom comes from the Cancer Research UK (CR UK), set up in 2002. CR UK supports over 500 research centers throughout the UK with its aim to carry out world-class research into the biology and causes of cancer, as well as develop effective treatments to improve the quality of life for cancer patients. In addition, CR UK provide authoritative information on cancer based on up-date research to educate people on how cancer can prevented and what are the causes of it.

Most of current cancer research centers on the prevention and causes of cancer as well as finding cures for the different types of cancers which exists. The Royal Marsden Institute extends its research across the causes, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of all types of cancer as well as conducting world class research into the cellular and molecular causes of cancer; and the development and testing of anti-cancer drugs. In addition, research bodies such as the National Cancer Research Network (NCRN) in the United Kingdom supports prospective trials of cancer treatments and as well conduct other well-designed cancer studies in order to gain better understanding of the disease.

Cancer Research is an ongoing process to find better cures and more effective treatments for all types of cancers. In the USA and in a number of European Countries there are variety of charities/researchers/institutes that are currently searching to find better cancer cures and treatments for all types of cancers which are currently known to exist.
